Beatrice K. Ellis
May 2, 1924- September 21, 2016

A funeral service for Beatrice K. Ellis, 92, of Utica, will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2016 at Law-Baker Funeral Home with Alan Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery.

Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica, .

Mrs. Ellis passed away on September 21, 2016 at Country Club Retirement Campus of Mt. Vernon. She was born May 2, 1924, in Utica to the late Lawrence and Oma (Glover) Smith.

Mrs. Ellis graduated from Utica High School in 1942 and shortly thereafter went to work for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, DC. She also worked at the Miller Company and Watts Restaurant.

She was a member of the Heath Church of Christ and attended the Utica Church of Christ. She was an active member and Past Madam President of the auxillary to Buckeye Lake Eagles Aerie 2801, also a member of Buckeye Lake V.F.W., Post 1388, Newark Eagles Aerie 387 and Sweet Adelines. She was a great cook and loved gardening and shopping. Most of all she loved her family and devoted herself to her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by son, Terry (Cindy) Davis of Newark, daughters, Sandra Davis and Janis (Gary) Clayton both of Utica, step-sons, H. Jack Ellis, Jr. of Allegany, NY and N. Bruce Ellis of Myrtle Beach, SC, son-in-law, Joseph Myers, grandchildren; great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Raymond W. Davis, second husband, Charles H. Braid, and third husband, H. Jack Ellis who passed away December 22, 2004; daughter, Judy Myers, step-son, James A. Ellis; sister, Evelyn Pauley; brothers, Russell, Ralph and Harold Smith and two infant brothers.
