Billie Jean Pierpont

A funeral service for Billie Jean Pierpont, 80 of Newark, will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, April 4, 2014 at Maple Avenue Christian Union Church 552 Maple Ave. Newark with Pastor Paul Martindale officiating. A commital service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Newark Memorial Gardens.

Billie, died March 30, 2014 at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born May 6, 1933, in Duncan, Oklahoma to the late William Riley and Cloye (Horner) Smith.

She worked as a Taylor Maid for 12 years and was a retired seamstress.

She is survived by her husband, C.W. "Bill" Pierpont, three daughters, Pamela Smart, of Knoxville, Tenn., Linda Murphy and Brenda Murphy, of Newark, step-daughters Dianna (Doug) Sands, of Phoenix, Arizona, Beth (Glenn) Harris, of Danville, Lisa (Tom) Hommrich, of Westerville, 6 grandchildren and a nephew.

She is preceded in death by a brother, William D. Smith and a sister, Cherrie Nell Gilbert.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m., Thursday, April 3 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N Main St., Utica, .
