A funeral service for Bobby Ben Hurd, 86, of Utica will be held 1pm on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica with Rev. Neal Skiles officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 11-1pm prior to the funeral service.

Bobby passed away on May 16, 2021 at his residence. He was born on October 7, 1934 in Summersville, WV to the late Virgil James and Georgie Gaye (Bond) Hurd.

Bobby served honorably in the U.S. Army. He retired from Owens Corning after 37 years. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Marlene (Melick) Hurd; daughters and son-in-law, Chris Gartner and Donna and Dan Foutty; four grandchildren, Tim and Felicia Swank, Cameron (Alex) Foutty and Monica Foutty; six great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Wilma Hurd; and many nieces and nephews.
