Brett Cory Smith, lover of life and life of the party, left this earth for his heavenly home on August 13, 2023 after a long and heroic battle with cancer.

Brett was born on November 23, 1982 to his loving parents Bill and Roxann Smith. Brett loved baseball, cars and most importantly his family.

He is survived by his wife Nicole and his 2 kids Corbin and Kendal. Brett also leaves behind his parents Bill and Roxann, his siblings Chris (Christina), Heather (Thad) and Candace as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and loved ones.

Brett's biggest pride and joy in this world were his wife Nicole and his two kids Corbin and Kendal. Brett was an immensely dedicated father and husband. There was not a time when you didn't catch Brett being a goofball with his wife and kids and being there for them at all times. Brett was an amazing husband and father. In the weeks preceding his passing Brett expressed that his greatest wish for his kids and wife is to be happy.

Playwright Jack Thorne once said "those we love never truly leave us. There are certain things that death cannot touch."  Brett will live in the hearts of everyone who knew him. We love you Brett. Fly high and rest easy!

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 10am-12pm at Brucker-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Rd., Newark, OH 43055.
