Carl E. Jones
Newark - A funeral service for Carl E. Jones, 87 of Newark, will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 9, 2015 at Northside Baptist Church, 595 Goosepond Rd., Newark with Pastor Tim Carr officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery with military honors provided by Licking County Veterans Alliance.
Calling hours will be held 4:00-6:00 p.m., Sunday, November 8, 2015 and one hour prior to the service, 10:00-11:00 a.m., on Monday, November 9, 2015 at the church.
Mr. Jones passed away November 3, 2015 at his residence. He was born May 28, 1928, in McKean Township, Licking Co. to the late Ralph M. and Myrtle (Myers) Jones.
Carl was a member of Highwater Congregational UCC for 75 years and attended Northside Baptist Church. He was an Army Veteran, a mechanic for 22 years and a McKean Township road supervisor for 15 years.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Dora E. (Lane) Cope-Jones of Newark; son, Robert William Jones of Newark; step-sons, Jonathan (Tracie) Cope of Granville, Stephen Cope of St. Louisville, Mike Cope of Buckeye Lake; four grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Frances Mathews of Newark; nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie (McAffee) Jones; infant son; and sister, Clarice Lewis.
