Carmel L. Oiler
Utica - A funeral service for Carmel L. Oiler, 75 of Utica, will be held at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, October 17, 2010 at North Side Church of Christ, 4427 Marion Rd. NE, Newark where friends may call from 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. Bruce Hissong will officiate.
Carmel died October 14, 2010 at his residence He was born July 29, 1935, in Homer to the late Jerry E. and Artie M. (Leonard) Oiler.
Carmel was owner and operator of Oiler Meat Processing for 36 years and a member of the Farmer's Lodge #153 F & AM, Fredonia. He was a finish carpenter and a 1954 graduate of Homer High School.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda L. (Fitch) Oiler, son and daughter-in-law, Samuel and Diana Oiler and Grandpa's pride and joy, Zach and Emily Oiler all of Utica; sister and brother-in-law, Thelma and Jerry Debevoise of Newark; many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by four brothers, Harley, Paul, Elmer and Lloyd Oiler.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the local EMS or Fire Department of your choice.
