A funeral service for Carolyn R. Higgins, 79 of Mt. Vernon, will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Bell Church of Christ, 20871 Bell Church Rd., Utica with Roger Crego officiating. Burial will follow in Bell Cemetery.

Friends may call 1:00-3:00 pm and 4:00-6:00 pm, Monday, February 11, 2019 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica.

Carolyn passed away February 7, 2019 at Knox Community Hospital, Mt. Vernon. She was born December 11, 1939, in Knox County to the late Stanley S. and Bessie (Mason) Walton.

She is survived by her son, Jon Higgins of Heath; daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy (Rodney) Harris of Frazeysburg, Wendy Smith of Cable, Teri (Keith) Page of Sunbury, Tami (Keith) Ruhl of Mt. Vernon, Shamra Ann Higgins of Columbus; eighteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; brothers, David (Joann) Walton, Richard (Patty) Walton, Seldon (Dot) Walton; sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna Jean Neale, Betty (Len) McGirr, Nancy Lacey, Susie (Ken) Grange; sister-in-law, Jeannie Walton.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Stanley & Bessie Walton; sons, Ted and Jed Higgins who passed away May 20, 2011 and May 24, 2011 respectively; brothers, Bradford, Gerald and Stanley Walton.
