Mount Vernon - A graveside service for Carroll E. Allen, 88 of Mount Vernon, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 15, 2016 at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Allen passed away February 10, 2016 at Mount Carmel St. Ann's, Westerville. He was born November 21, 1927, in Gambier to the late Oliver M. and Leota M. (Mason) Allen.
Carroll was a jack of all trades and worked until the last few months of his life. In his earlier years, he served as a Mount Vernon City Council member.
He is survived by his children, Andrew Allen of Mount Vernon, Laura Ackerman (Ray McFadden) of Howard, Leslie (Marcel) Gauch of Cincinnati, Judy Schumway of Owasso, OK; ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Olive J. (Everett) Allen; daughter and son-in-law, Randi Carol and Glenn Mullins; son, Jeff Graf; brother, Willard M. Allen.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Knox County Humane Society, 400 Columbus Rd., Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
