Charles "Bill" W. Dowell, 86 of Alexandria passed away on December 1, 2024 at his residence. He was born on May 10, 1938 in Johnstown, OH to the late James Arthur and Jewell Ellen (Spires) Dowell, Sr.

Bill served honorably in the U.S. Army as a gunner during Vietnam. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed telling stories. He loved being outdoors and going to casinos.

He is survived by his daughter, Missie (Kelly) Wagner; grandchildren, Christopher (Emily) Douglas, Michaela (Kyle) Sapp, Jocie (Luke) Russell and Emilee Wagner; great-grandchildren, Ronin, Reign, Owen, Emerson, Jaxson and Thomas; sisters, June (Francis) Tschakert, Judy (Jim) Paradis and Cindy Durthaler; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Sue (Caudill) Dowell; son, Charles W. Dowell II; brothers, Jim Dowell, Jr., Ed Dowell, Dave Dowell and Roger Dowell; and sister, Mary Parks.

No services will be held at this time. He will be laid to rest at Greenhill Cemetery, Johnstown in the spring.
