A funeral service for Charles E. Selmon, 86, of Utica will be held at 11am on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica with Doug Swan officiating. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Charles passed away on November 12, 2022 at his residence. He was born on February 2, 1936 in Sistersville, WV to the late Chester and Laberta (Beaver) Selmon.

Charles served honorably in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Owens Corning and then worked for the Village of Utica and helped maintain South Lawn Cemetery. He enjoyed sports and watching old westerns.

He is survived by his step-daughter, Rannay (Donny) Cline; daughter, Teresa (Tim) Maynard; son, Gary Selmon; step-son, Shawn McGinnis; grandchildren, Jeremy (Rachel) Cline, Jessica Maglott, Jacob Maynard, Tyler (Vicki) Brown, Tyrus (Heidi) Selmon, Hunter (Morgan) Selmon, Shalee (Richard) Wilkinson, Novarae Selmon and several more grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Kwintyn and Stetson Selmon and several more great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce E. (Rice) Selmon; sons, Lee Selmon and Raymond Selmon; sister, Betty McCollum; brother, Jim Selmon; and companion, Frances McGinnis.
