Christine "Christy" A. Ransom, 64 of Utica passed away March 7, 2018 at Knox Community Hospital, Mount Vernon. She was born in Newark on June 1, 1953.

Christy was the shopkeeper of Granny Flash's Attic, a member of Utica Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary and played Frosty the Snowman at the Utica Christmas Walk for years.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Ransom of Utica; children, Melissa and Denise Candelaria of Utica, Fayeanne Wood of Laurel, MT, Felicia Eckstein of Nampa, ID and Derick Eckstein of Boise, ID; Kyle Hunt of Willoughy, Mark II and Kiley Flowers of Newark, Meagan Myers of Coshocton, Autumn Myers of Utica, Brianna Ransom of Wooster, Preston Ransom of Utica; grandchildren, Andrew I., Andrew C., Matthew T., Ember A., Matthew L., Michael L., Westen A., Evelynn R., Felisha R., Bryson M.; brothers, Scott Gilbreath of Utica, Jim Gilbreath of Conneaut; sisters, Patricia Grennell of Mt. Vernon, Marilyn Allen of Newark.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jackie Young; parents, Chuck and Marlene A. (Allen) Grennell; step-father, Harry L. Gilbreath.

At Christy's request, no public service will be held.
