Christine Janet Gartner

A memorial service for Christine Janet Gartner, 64, of Newark, OH, will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at Heath Christian Union Church, with Pastor Neal Skiles officiating. Family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service at the church, 80 Licking View Drive, Heath, Ohio 43056.

Christine passed away May 4, 2023, at Select Specialty Hospital. She was born May 10, 1958, in Mt. Vernon, OH, to Marlene (Melick) Hurd and the late Bobby B. Hurd.

Christine was a member of Heath Christian Union Church. She enjoyed crafts, reading, crocheting, painting, and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children, Felicia Bryslan and Timothy Swank; sister, Donna (Dan) Foutty; grandchildren, Lanae, Armani, Amiah, and Lakai Wheat, and Isaac and Liam Swank; nephew, Cameron (Alexandrea) Foutty; niece, Monica Foutty, and uncles, K. Ronald Melick, Gary Melick, Jim (Linda) Melick, Owen Melick, and Bill (Wilma) Hurd.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Virgil James and Georgie Gaye (Bond) Hurd, and aunts, Betty, Marguerite, and Kenda Melick.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heath Christian Union Church.
