Clyde R. Chopson

Homer - Calling hours for Clyde R. Chopson, 90 of Homer, will be held 10:00-11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Law-Baker Funeral Home with the service at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Karl Stonebarker will officiate. Burial will follow in Homer Cemetery.

Clyde died July 26, 2014 at Country Court Nursing Center, Mount Vernon. He was born June 13, 1924, in Homer to the late Charles and Olive G. (Dunlap) Chopson.

Clyde retired from Diamond Bathhurst, Mount Vernon. He was a member of Utica American Legion Post 92 for 60 years. Clyde was an Army Korean War Veteran, served on the Homer Fire Brigade and was a member of the Hebron Auxiliary Highway Patrol.

He is survived by nieces and nephews, Nena Blair, Sally Whitt, Norma Johnson, Betty Chopson all of Mount Vernon, Linda Chopson, David Chopson, Rick Chopson, Joyce Sheridan all of Amity, Shirley Pruitt of Sunbury, Brenda Jacobs and Jody Blaney both of Newark, Thomas Prince of Heath, Carolyn Austin of Raleigh, NC, Beth Perry of Dayton, Mark Palat of Homer, David Palat of Virginia Beach, VA.

He is preceded in death by brothers, George and Junior Chopson; sisters, Grace Palat, Gladys Jackson, Esther Kennedy and Irma Prince; niece, Peggy Williams; nephew, William Kennedy.
