Utica - A funeral service for Clydia L. Short, 88 of Utica, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 5, 2012 at Law-Baker Funeral Home with Pastor Sharon VanWinkle officiating. Burial will follow in Owl Creek Cemetery.
Clydia died September 30, 2012 at Emeritus at Hillen Vale, Mount Vernon. She was born September 2, 1924, in Dry Ridge, KY to the late William H. and Lura (Carter) Kemper.
Clydia was a member of Owl Creek Baptist Church and belonged to their Missionary Group. She had a wonderful life and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life and she loved flowers.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, James Denver Lee Short of Pataskala, Gary R. and Velma Short of Brinkhaven, Lonnie E. and Josie Short of Johnstown; daughter, Loretta S. Sibley of Topping, VA, ten grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John M. Short who passed away December 31, 2006; brother, Monroe Webb.
