Darrell "Jud" Brechler, 79 of Utica passed away on October 13, 2025 at OSU Medical Center. He was born on June 6, 1946 in Corning, OH to the late Harold and Fontelle (Johnson) Brechler.

Jud served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was the Village of Utica Administrator for 22 years.

Jud was always the funniest guy in the room- he brought so much joy to those around him with his corny and wholesome humor. He loved to laugh with and tease those closest to him.

Jud loved his family beyond measure and was so proud of them. He loved everything about his granddaughters and always talked about how much greatness he saw in them.

Jud is survived by his sons, Chad Brechler and Zachary (Elena Nathalie) Brechler; granddaughters, Nina and Nadia Brechler; sister, Karen Murphy; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Nathan Tyler Brechler.

A private graveside service will be held at South Lawn Cemetery at a later date.
