Darrell Gene Keener

Darrell Gene Keener, 80, of Utica, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on October 24, 2025, at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Care Center. He was born September 16, 1945, in Beckley, WV, to the late James and Myrtle (Knolton) Keener.
Darrell was a United States Army veteran. After more than 40 years of hard work, he retired from Owens Corning. He was an active member of his church and deeply devoted to his family, cherishing every moment spent with his grandchildren. A true hobby farmer at heart, Darrell loved caring for his animals and raised cows, pigs, and chickens over the years. He found joy in traveling, exploring nature, and watching the deer and birds around his home.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judy A. (Marti) Keener; son, Douglas (Jeannie) Keener; daughter, Sharon (George) Van Kirk; grandchildren, Jordan (Darbey) Keener, Paige Keener, and Bryson Van Kirk; great-grandson, Colton Keener; three sisters, and two brothers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
In accordance with Darrell's wishes, no public services will be held.
