David L. Hite
Granville - A private service for David L. Hite, 95 of Granville, formerly of Utica, will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Law-Baker Funeral Home with Pastor Karen Chakoian officiating. Burial will be in South Lawn Cemetery.

Dave died January 28, 2012 at Ohio State University Medical Center, Columbus. He was born April 30, 1916, in Utica to the late Frank C. and Mary Edna (Pannebaker) Hite.

Dave was a member of Granville Presbyterian Church, and a World War II Army veteran serving in the United States Office of Strategic Services in the Mediterranean Theatre. He practiced law in Utica and Newark and was a member of the Licking, Cleveland, Ohio State and American Bar Associations. He was a life member of the American Legion and served the maximum terms on the Licking County Aging Commission.

He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Diane Hite and her husband, Dr. Hajime "Jim" Miyazaki of Auburn, AL and Columbus, OH.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Maxine W. Hite who passed away February 11, 2002; son, David L,. Hite, Jr. who passed away December 25, 1984; sisters, Patricia Wambold and Joan Hoelscher.

Friends may call 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N Main St., Utica.

Diane and Jim will host a Chardonnay toast at Beth and Russ's house following the burial.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Maxine W. and Diane Hite Scholarship Fund at the Licking County Foundation, 30 N. 2nd St., Newark, OH 43055.
