David O. Rice, 74, of Johnstown passed away on December 10, 2022 at his residence. He was born on December 7, 1948 in Johnstown to the late Cecil and Oleta M. (Bell) Rice.

Dave was owner of Dave's Auto Repair Service, Inc. He was a member of Bell Church of Christ, Utica Jaycees, NRA and was former chief of the Homer Fire Department. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed beekeeping.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Janice K. (Rine) Rice; son, Matt (Laura) Rice; daughter, Shelley Rice; grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Kris) Halblaub, J.D. James and Janna James; great-grandchildren, Kinsley and Kizer Halblaub; sisters, Suzann Reed, Sandra Holdren and Luann (Ron) Judy; brother, Richard Rice; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, James Rice; and sister, Sharon Dorsey.

A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Bell Church of Christ, 20871 Bell Church Rd., Utica with Minister Steven Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 11am-1pm prior to the service.
