Obituary

David Paul Painter, 74 of Johnstown passed away on March 2, 2024 at the Selma Markowitz Center in Newark. He was born on December 24, 1949 in Newark to the late Paul and Ruth A. (Rauch) Painter.

Dave served honorably in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He graduated from Northridge High School in 1968. He was a member of Utica American Legion Post 92 and Heath Eagles. He worked for Weyerhaeuser Company and Producers Livestock and was owner of Painter Livestock Hauling, better known as The Bullshit Express.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda F. (Nickells) Painter; brothers-in-law, Charles Nickells, Daniel (Ruth) Nickells and Walter (Patti) Nickells; niece, Lee Ann Britton; nephew, Bill Britton; numerous cousins, lifelong friends and his beloved dog, Sussie.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ann Britton.

Calling hours will be held from 4-7pm on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Brucker-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica, OH. Graveside service will be held at 11am on Friday, March 15, 2024 with military honors provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
