Dixie L. Smoots, 87 of Utica passed away on November 2, 2026 at her residence. She was born on April 24, 1939 in Knox County, OH to the late Leet O. and Dorothy E. (Rhodeback) Bell.

Dixie was a homemaker and loved being a mother. She also enjoyed watching football.

She is survived by her children, Stanley K. Smoots, Michael E. Smoots and Laura L. Smoots; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley E. Smoots; siblings, Louise Pahl, Cora Cuccio, Mary Layman, Eunice Bell, Bonnie Davis, Marge Rutherford, Corwin Bell and Loretta Wiseman.

The family will receive friends from 12-1pm on Monday, November 9, 2026 at Brucker-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica. Funeral service will be held at 1pm with Pastor Ben McKinstry officiating. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.
