Don K. Seifert

Newark - Graveside services for Don K. Seifert, 78 of Newark, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Eden Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Mr. Seifert passed away August 17, 2015 at Selma Markowitz Center/LMH, Newark. He was born December 11, 1936, in Salem, Illinois to the late George and Vera A. (Arnold) Seifert.

Don was a member of Eden Church, a U.S. Navy Korean Veteran, serving on the USS Lake Champlain and member of National Rifle Association. He was employed by Sears for 35 years in security and worked for Reynoldsburg Auxilary Police.

He is survived by wife of 57 years, Mona E. (Peneton) Seifert of Newark; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Sally Seifert of St. Louisville; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Greg Strausz, Sr. of Heath; grandchildren, Andrew (Kendra) Swick, Daniel (Rachel) Swick, Caleb (Sherry) Swick, Ricky Walker, Ashley Backes, Megan Seifert, Hannah Seifert, Matthew Seifert; great-grandchildren, Michael, Caleb, Jonathan, Elijah, Alyssa, Micaiah, Narellah, Ty, Sarah, Ryleigh, Armoni, Jaylea and Jace.

He is preceded in death by his great-grandson, Luke: brothers, George, Bill and Jerry Seifert; sister, Nona Lee Hamilton.
