A funeral service for Donald M. Baker, 79 of Mt. Vernon, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at the Utica Church of Christ, 115 N. Central, Utica with Alan Pratt and Doug Swan officiating. Burial will follow in Eden Cemetery.

Friends may call 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at the Utica Church of Christ.

Mr. Baker passed away November 18, 2016. He was born October 5, 1937, in St. Louisville to the late Paul and Anna Louise (Swick) Baker.

Don attended the Utica Church of Christ and enjoyed singing and farming. He retired from Kaiser.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Marlana Baker; daughter and son-in-law, Deb and Michael Bongiovi; significant other, Phyllis Justice; grandchildren, Danny (Monica), Zack, and Brandon (Kayla) Baker, Jimmy, Matt, Rachel and Becca Bongiovi; great-grandchildren, Callie, Camryn, Madeline and Jake Baker; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ron and Karen Baker, Joe and Fay Baker; sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Leroy Muir; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by brother, George (Marylou) Baker; sister, Marie (Bob) Stafford.
