Donna Marie (Green) McLaughlin
March 12, 1953-January 26, 2016

Donna Marie (Green) McLaughlin, 62, of Utica, passed away on Jan. 26, 2016, after fighting cancer for several years.
Born March 12, 1953, in Mount Vernon, to Roy and Helen Green, Donna was a graduate of Mount Vernon High School and Mount Vernon Business School. Donna loved to sing, winning several awards in Grange competitions during her youth. She directed a young girls singing group, Action Singers, at Grove Church of Christ. She was a member of the gospel group Rainbow Promise for more than 20 years and a member of Sweet Adelines.
Donna was active in her children's activities, serving as president of Utica Elementary PTO, Utica High School Band Boosters and was a member of the Knox County Farm Bureau and Knox County Home Extension Office.
Donna loved helping others. She was a 27-year member and a former chief of the Utica Emergency Squad. She was a dispatcher for the Utica Police Department for nine years and for the Licking County Sheriff's Office for 11 years. She also served as the Utica Clerk of Courts.
In addition to her parents, Donna is survived by a sister, Rebecca Green of Gambier, and a brother, Jeffrey (Jayne) Green of Wilmington; four children, Jeremy (Lynnly) McLaughlin of Gahanna, Jill McLaughlin of Pataskala, Justin (Miki) McLaughlin of Newark, and Jordan McLaughlin of Westerville; eight grandchildren, Jacob, Shayni, Logan, Caeden, Abigail, Lucy, Nathan, and William; cousin, Lee (Liz) Hobbins of Laurel, MD; her second family, Don (Charlene) McLaughlin, Karen McLaughlin, Rita (Randy) Smith, Joanne (Budd) Beatty, Patricia Ferenbaugh and James McLaughlin; 14 nieces and nephews; eight great nieces and nephews; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her beloved furry friend, Mace.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Walter and Dessie Tier, paternal grandparents Ronald and Esther Green, daughter-in-law Amy McLaughlin, and brothers-in-law Robert McLaughlin and Fred Lechleitner.
Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, January 29, 2016 at Utica Church of Christ, 115 N. Central Ave. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Grove Church of Christ, 7740 Grove Church Rd., Gambier with David Dahlstein, Victor Slutz and Alan Pratt officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery, Gambier.
