A funeral service for Douglas J. Snyder, 51 of Newark will be held at 6:30pm on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Highwater United Church of Christ, 1213 Dutch Lane NW, Newark. The family will receive friends from 3:00-6:30pm prior to the service.

Doug passed away on December 19, 2023 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 7, 1972 in Newark to Becky Sue (Baughman) and the late James Robert Snyder.

Doug worked at Chapel Grove Inn and was owner of Snyder Lawn Care. He graduated from Utica High School in 1990. He was a member of Martinsburg Road Church of Christ. He loved spending time with his grandkids, mowing grass, going to Key West, his goats and great danes.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sara (Vance) Snyder; children, Brooke Scott and Zach Snyder; step-children, Alexis Vance and Wyatt Johnson; grandchildren, Avery, Huntley, Ella, Laken and Lily; mother and step-father, Becky and Jim Lloyd; brother, Dave (Jennifer) Snyder; brothers-in-law, Larry Vance and Tyler (Tamara) Cunningham; uncles, Larry (Phyllis Buxton) Baughman and Thomas Russell (Connie) Baughman; nephews, Russell Snyder, Finn Snyder and Theo Cunningham; and many cousins.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Robert Snyder; grandparents, Tom and Lucille Baughman and Eugene and Dorothy Snyder; aunts, Rosalie Baughman, Sue Baughman and Becky (Jim) Korzec; and uncle, Joseph Snyder.
