Elaine Julia Neal, 71 of Utica passed away on April 27, 2026 at Select Specialty Hospital in Newark. She was born on December 15, 1954 in Fort Fairfield, Maine to the late Thomas N. and Mamie J. (Berube) Barnes.

Elaine retired from Compensation Consultants Inc. She enjoyed going to the Pioneer Restaurant and loved her beloved dog, Jack. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her companion, Steven Miller; sons, Troy (Amy) Neal and William (Tammy) Neal; grandchildren, Brittany (Drew) Clanin, Tamera (Brendan) Scherer, Colton Neal, Dylan Neal and Daxton Neal; great-grandchildren, Liam and Tenley Clanin, Caliyah Neal, Theo and Hudson Scherer; siblings, Thomas (Peggy) Barnes, Barbara (Tom) Foster, Winnie (John) Markwell, and Betty (Danny) Grant; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Harold Barnes, Gregory Barnes, Martina Littlefield and Darlene Fitzgibbon.

The family will receive friends from 11-1pm on Monday, May 4, 2026 at Brucker-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica where the funeral service will follow at 1pm with Pastor Doug Swan officiating. Burial will follow at South Lawn Cemetery.
