A funeral service for Elinor Jean Landis, 83 of Utica, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 13, 2018, at Owl Creek Baptist Church, 4044 Owl Creek Church Rd. with Pastor Matthew Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Owl Creek Cemetery.

Friends may call 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica.

Jean passed away, July 8, 2018 at Arlington Care Center, Newark. She was born July 19, 1934 in Newark to the late Ellsworth and Myrtle M. (Bode) Spray.

She was a member of Owl Creek Baptist Church and the Homemakers Club. Jean graduated in 1951 from Granville High School and was a member of Newark Vibration Model A Club. She was a true country girl who loved gardening, freezing and canning vegetables, mushroom hunting and picking berries, country music and country gospel.

She is survived by nine nieces and ten nephews.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Carl "Doc" Landis who passed away November 20, 2011; brothers, John and Richard Spray; sisters, Mildred Parker, Grace Walters, Sybil Robertson and Violet Postle and one nephew, John Spray, Jr.
