Frances Marie Carnes Dewitt
Utica - A graveside service for Frances Marie Carnes Dewitt, 67 of Utica, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Owl Creek Cemetery with David Hatfield officiating.
Marie died April 15, 2011 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. She was born May 18, 1943, in Coshocton to the late Ralph and Pearl (Freshwater) Carnes.
Marie was a member of Owl Creek Baptist Church for over 30 years and was a graduate of Warsaw High School. She retired from Western-Southern Life Insurance Co. in 1977 after 13 years.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Lyle E. Dewitt whom she married May 30, 1969, and her son, Andrew W. Dewitt both of Utica; step-son, Terry Allan Dewitt of Mount Vernon, several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Harry, Clarence, Donald Sr., Ralph, Kenny and Harold Wayne Carnes; sisters, Evelyn Mae Carnes, Muriel Blomberg, Dorothy Scheetz, Jane Jacobs. Marie was the last of eleven children.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Owl Creek Baptist Church, 4044 Owl Creek Church Rd., Utica, OH 43080.
