Frank William "Bill" McMurtry, Jr.

May 27, 1954 – October 23, 2018

A memorial service for Frank William "Bill" McMurtry, Jr. 64, of Mt. Vernon will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica with Roger Tickle officiating. A private burial will be at South Lawn Cemetery at a later date.

Friends may call 1:00-3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the funeral home.

Bill passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on October 23, 2018. He was born May 27, 1954 in Norwalk to the late Frank W. and Marjorie (Hagans) McMurtry, Sr.

Bill loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed family reunions, holidays and dressing up for Halloween. He was a Son of the American Legion, Post 92, a lifetime member of Irish Hills Golf Course and worked for Jeld-Wen from 1972-2018. Bill loved a good joke, golfing, OSU football and the Cleveland Browns.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Connie (Coffing) McMurtry; daughters, Renee (Steve Fowler) Queen, Christina (Kyle Hagerman) McMurtry; four grandchildren, Samantha (Justin Shaw) Arcilla, Victoria Queen, Thomas (Madi) Queen, Riley Fowler; great-grandchildren Justus and Sage Shaw and one on the way; brothers, Mark (Candy) Thomas, Kelly (Mary) McMurtry, Wayne (Debbie) Raines; sisters, Susie (John) Endicott, Ginny (Jim) Conrad; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his step-mother, Daisy McMurtry; step-son, Will Whaley; brothers, Jim Miller, Gary McMurtry; sisters, Debbie Everhart, Sharon Vance.
