Utica - A funeral service for Frederick A. Davis, 91 of Utica, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at Law-Baker Funeral Home with Pastor Ben McKinstry officiating. Burial will follow in Homer Cemetery.

Family and friends may call 7:00-9:00, Monday, January 11, 2016 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica. A Masonic Service will be held at 8:45 pm.

Mr. Davis passed away January 8, 2016 at Selma Markowitz Care Center, Newark. He was born March 10, 1924, in Utica to the late Clive A. and Retta (Coon) Davis.

He was a member of Utica Church of Christ since 1937, Masonic Lodge #291 F&AM since 1951 and a World War II Army Veteran. Fred was a 1942 graduate of Utica High School, attended Denison University, University of Pittsburgh and graduated from the Ohio State University in 1947. Fred was inducted into the Utica Athletic Hall of Fame in 1986.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Lee Ann and Chris Gibson of Dublin, Debra and Dewayne Slack of Buckeye Lake; grandchildren, Shad (Teresa) Mossholder, Sabra (Joel White) Mossholder, Andrew Gibson and Michelle (Scott Blanchard) May; great grandson, Dylan Mossholder; sisters-in-law, Nova Edman, Garnet Davis and Donna Davis, nephews, Dale and Glenn Lovell, Dick and Steve Edman, Brad Davis and Steve Davis, niece, Laura Davis.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Eleaner J. (Thompson) Davis who passed away in 1987; grandson, Kyle Mossholder; sister, Pauline Lovell; brothers, Richard and Harold Davis.
