Gail Lloyd Berger

July 8, 1935-February 22, 2020

Gail Lloyd Berger, 84, of Mount Vernon passed away peacefully February 22, 2020. He was born July 8, 1935 at home to Kenneth and Reba (Chase) Berger.

Gail graduated from Homer high school and was a lifelong farmer. With his father and brother, they milked Jersey cows until 2000. Then they switched to Draft Ponies at his niece's behest. Gail loved his ponies, hauling his Amish boys, but most of all his family. His niece and nephew were truly privileged to have him in their life. Gail also served 2 years in the US Army.

He is survived by his brother, Robert, niece, Carol (Stephanie) Crites, and nephew, Brett (Tom Bilcze) Berger all of Mt. Vernon, and special family friends Matt and Nikki Swift of Columbus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mildred (Burrell) and sister-in-law, Bonnie J. (Ranck) Berger.

Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 pm, Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica. Funeral Service will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at Law-Baker Funeral Home with Pastor Ben McKinstry officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.
