Gary L. Clayton, 73 of Utica passed away on November 8, 2024 at OSU Medical Center. He was born on March 23, 1951 in Mt. Vernon, OH to the late Royal N. and Marie (Rutter) Clayton.

Gary served honorably in the U.S. Army and was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 92. He was a mechanic for 45 years and retired from Lash Chevrolet. He loved all kinds of cars. He enjoyed being outside, camping, NASCAR, working fish fries at the Legion and was an Ohio State fan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Jan (Davis) Clayton; children, Jerad (Michelle) Clayton, Melissa (Nicole) Diblasio and Gabriel Mount; grandchildren, Marcus Clayton, Lilly Clayton, Hannah Clayton, Kamden (Laney) Kreager, Kellia Kreager, Lennon Loughman, Gradyn Loughman, Gavyn Diblasio and Dylan Diblasio; great-granddaughter, Wrenley Kreager; brother, Bill (Carol) Clayton; sister, Vianna Dowell; brothers-in-law, Joe Myers and Terry (Cindy) Davis; sister-in-law, Sandy Davis; friend, Linda Wolfe; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Helen White; and brother-in-law, Don Dowell.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
