Sun City, AZ - A funeral service for George L. Freas, 74 of Newark, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Highwater Congregational Church UCC, 1213 Dutch Lane Rd. NW with Rev. Scott Schieber officiating. Burial will follow in Wilson Cemetery.
Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Friday, November 29, 2013 at the church.
George died November 24, 2013 in Sun City, AZ. He was born July 29, 1939, in Newark to the late Charles B. and Bertha G. (Great) Freas.
He was a member of Highwater Congregational Church UCC. George was a farmer, a former member of Heart of Ohio Angus Association and Centenial Grange. He retired from Dennison University and Ohio High Athletic Association after 40 years of officiating.
He is survived by wife of 53 years, Virginia A. (Berkley) Freas of Newark, son and daughter-in-law, David M. and Samantha Freas of Walhonding; grandsons Tyler and Michael Freas; sister, Louise Murphy of Newark; many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Highwater Congregational Church UCC, 1213 Dutch Lane Rd. NW, Newark, OH 43055.
