Gerald D. Conard

A memorial service for Gerald D. Conard, 89, of Utica, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Grace Pointe Community Church, 892 E. Columbus Rd., Utica.

Mr. Conard passed away April 14, 2018 at Selma Markowitz Center, Newark. He was born August 27, 1928 in Centerburg to the late James W. and Velma (Dugan) Conard.

Gerald was a member of Grace Pointe Community Church and was an Army veteran during the Korean Conflict. He was very sociable, loved to farm, riding his mules in parades and enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sandra L. (Manifold) Conard of Utica; son, Bruce (Fran) Conard of Utica; daughter, Deborah (Earl) Gallwitz of Warsaw; grandchildren, Jonathan (Gail) Gallwitz, Randy Gallwitz, Christine (Rhyse) Lapham, and Trevor Kerr; sister, Jean Horn; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Clarence Conard; sister, Iona Cooperrider.
