Gerald L. Walton

Newark - Gerald L. Walton, 78, of Newark passed away July 24, 2012 surrounded by his family and loved ones. Friends may call from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica. Casual attire.

Gerald was born November 9, 1933, in Brandon, Ohio to the late Stanley S. and Elizabeth (Mason) Walton. He was a retired brick mason, a 50 year member of BAC Local #44, and a U.S. Army veteran.

Gerald is survived by his wife of 57 years, Viola Jean (Bell) Walton of Newark, two sons Randel (Kathy) Walton of Newark, Richard (Deborah) Walton of Mount Vernon; four granddaughters, Riana (Scot) Veatch of Newark, Toni Marie (Chad) Conant of Mount Vernon, Bethany Deluliis of Columbus, Dana (Andrew) Berg of Gulf Shores, AL; great-grandchildren, Connor Conant of Mount Vernon, Shayna Green, Hope Potter and Andrew Berg all of Gulf Shores. He is survived by his brothers, Bradford Walton of Mount Vernon, Seldon (Dottie) Walton of Utica, David (Joanne) Walton of Granville, Richard (Patty) Walton of Newark, his sisters, Donna Jean Neale of Newark, Carolyn Higgins of Mount Vernon, Nancy (Dave) Lacey of Johnstown, Betty (Len) McGirr of Zanesville, Susie (Kenneth) Granger of Ocala, FL, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Stanley.
