Glenn E. Smith
Utica - A funeral service for Glenn E. Smith, 66 of Utica, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Law-Baker Funeral Home with Pastor Frank Austin officiating. Burial will follow in Bell Cemetery with military honors provided by the American Legion Post 92.
Glenn passed away peacefully in his home June 5, 2012. He was born November 8, 1945, in Utica to the late Harold W. and Ethel (Chappeale) Smith.
Glenn graduated from Utica High School in 1963 and The Ohio State University in 1967. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany and worked for Honeywell before establishing his own security business, Ohio Security.
Glenn was also a farmer and belonged to Utica American Legion Post 92, Post 94 AM Vets, Licking Lodge #291 F & AM, UTK Club, NRA, Moose Colonial City Lodge, Ohio State Alumni Association and was a member of First Families of Knox County
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Larry Layton of Utica; one nephew, Stephen Insley of Bacliff, TX.
He is preceded in death by his niece, Gatha Diane Bowman.
