Grathel Parks

Utica - A funeral service for Grathel Parks, 97 of Utica, will be held at 11:00 a.m.,Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Fairview Free Will Baptist Church, 15271 Vance Rd., Mount Vernon. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mount Vernon.

Friends may call 5:00-8:00 p.m.,Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N Main St., Utica.

Grathel went to be with Jesus on January 17, 2014 at Flint Ridge Nursing Home, Newark and the angels are rejoicing in heaven. She was born December 21, 1916, in Louisa, KY to the late Dillon and Fanny (Thompson) Moore.

She was a member of Fairview Free Will Baptist Church, Mount Vernon where she played the piano for many years. She was a loving mother and gifted musician.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, John William Moore of Canal Winchester, Rick and Mary Jo Moore of Nashport; daughters and son-in-law, Rose Ernest of Mount Vernon, Peggy and Bill Latham Liggett of Utica; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Judy Moore of Louisa, KY.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, William T. Moore who passed away in 1978 and John Parks who passed away in 2000; brothers, Cliff, Eugene, Donald and Robert Moore; sisters, Opal Dague, Walda Short and Fern Heck.
