Utica - A funeral service for Harold E. Parkinson, 87, of Utica, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica with Pastor Dave Martin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service, 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Parkinson passed away on January 13, 2016 at the Selma Markowitz Center in Newark. He was born March 5, 1928 to the late Albert Parkinson and Marie (Irwin) Parkinson Welsh in Licking County.
Mr. Parkinson was a loving husband, father and grandfather and lived in the Utica community for 51 years. He was a 4H advisor for over 20 years, a member of Morgan Grange and a lifelong dairy farmer. Harold was a graduate of Harlem High School and served in the Navy Reserves.
He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Penny and Frank McCoy, Patty and Bob Krueger, sons and daughters-in-law, John and Rosanne Parkinson, Jerry and Melissa Parkinson, sister and brother-in-law, Jean and David Goss, grandchildren, Michelle (Parag) ) Parikh, Melissa (Todd) Ramsey, Robert (Jessica) Krueger, Jonathan (Briana) McCoy, Aleta Parkinson, Christopher (Samantha) Parkinson, Troy (Miriah) Parkinson, Michael (Lindsey) McCoy, John David Parkinson, Tyler Parkinson, Jessica (Keith) Remley, Josh Parkinson and Sonia Parkinson, great-grandchildren, Ronak and Adelina Parikh, Chase Parkinson, Debbie McCoy, Sam Krueger, A. J. Ramsey, Luke Parkinson, Clara McCoy, Lily Krueger, Emmet Parkinson, Charlotte Parkinson and Beau Ramsey.
He is preceded in death by wife of 63 years, Wanda Parkinson; brothers, Richard Parkinson and Nelson Parkinson; great-grandson, Ian McCoy.
