Helen M. Teele

Utica - A funeral service for Helen M. Teele of Utica, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Utica Presbyterian Church with Terry Holobaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Newark Memorial Gardens.
Helen died April 11, 2012, at Partners Care Center in Marion, following a brief illness. She was born on a farm northwest of Homer, Ohio, on April 13, 1924, to Harry and Ada McCammon. Twelve hours after her birth, the family home caught on fire. She and her mother were transported in a large chair to a neighbor's house across the road while the family and neighbors battled the blaze unsuccessfully. She attended all twelve years of school at Utica and then went to Mt. Vernon Business School. She worked as a secretary for Sealtest Foods and served as principal's secretary at Utica High School and superintendent's secretary for North Fork Schools for a total of twenty-five years.
She married Otto Teele in 1975 and together, they have three daughters, Sheryl (Bill) French of Utica, Linda (Larry) Bline and Joan Mortine, of Newark, and one son, Dr. Jim (Debbie) Tulloss of Marion; ten grandchildren, Bryan French, Andrew Mortine, Andrea Conley, Chris Tulloss, Michael Bline, Melinda Evans, Shannon Amrine, Lauren Leach, Erin Chewlewski, and James Tulloss, Jr.; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Helen was a member of Utica Chapter #705 Ohio Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Matron in 1974; the Utica Presbyterian Church since 1959, serving as deacon, trustee, and treasurer; Presbyterian Women's Association, and Utica Community Guild. Helen loved her Lord and displayed this love through her dedication and commitment to her Church and its workings. She loved to send greeting cards, both those of joy and those of encouragement to the ill and grieving.
Helen loved and enjoyed her family. A family get-together was a joyous occasion for her. She displayed her affection for her family openly. She was quick to tell everyone how thankful she was to share her life and her love with Otto. She said she thanked God every day for granting her this privilege.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Otto C. Teele, who passed away April 18, 2011, five sisters and a brother.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2012, at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 North Main Street, Utica. Eastern Star Services will be held at 5:30 p.m.
