Homer C. Overturf

Utica A funeral service for Homer C. Overturf, 94, of Utica, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Utica United Methodist Church, 626 North St. with Pastor Dave Martin officiating. Burial will follow in South Lawn Cemetery.

Family and friends may call 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 9 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N Main St., Utica.

Homer died December 7, 2014 at Chestnut House Assisted Living, Newark. He was born January 7, 1920, in Centerburg to the late Frank and Viola (Peters) Overturf.

Homer was a member of Utica United Methodist Church and a World War II Army Veteran. He was a charter member of Utica Sertoma, a 1937 Johnstown High School graduate and co-owner of Utica Hardware Store for 22 years.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and John Riedel of Angelton, TX, Judy and Jerry Hull of Utica; grandchildren, Becky (Mike) Carpenter of Westerville, Carol (Arthur) Mancinas of San Antonio, TX, Matthew Riedel of Waldren, AR and Beth Riedel of Houston, TX, and three great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife Betty who passed away November 30, 2011; brother Wayne Overturf.
