Homer "John" Walker
June 4, 1935-February 17, 2012

A funeral service for Homer "John" Walker, 76 of Utica, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Martinsburg Community Church, 166 E. Liberty St. with Pastor Ben McKinstry officiating. Burial will follow in Martinsburg Methodist Cemetery.

John died February 17, 2012 at Knox Community Hospital, Mount Vernon. He was born June 4, 1935, in Orient Hill, WV to the late Mattie V. McMann.

John was employed by Kaiser Aluminum, Heath for 20 years, Wills Creek Energy, Coshocton for 10 years and was an oil field mechanic for several years. He was a North Fork School bus driver, worked for Wahl Motor Sales and was an auto body man. John was proud of John's Tack Shop and his hobbies were buying and selling tack, horses and ponies.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jean (Smith) Walker of Utica; he was a father of seven sons who were very proud of their father, Sheldon Walker and Lisa Meyers, Johnnie Walker, Mike and Mindy Walker, Tim Walker, Kevin and Frankie Walker, Keith Walker and Kelly Walker all of Utica; grandchildren, Brittany, Johnathan, Holly, Serinna, Kaylee, Paige, Cody, Kandis, Dustin, Dakota and Sydney; great-grandchildren, Kamryn, Madelyn and Taya; brother, Richard Walker, sisters, Pat Hankins and Nellie Grant all of Utica.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jeanie Renae; brother, Bob Walker.

Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Monday, February 20, 2012 at Martinsburg Community Church, 166 E. Liberty St., Martinsburg.
