A funeral service for Horace "Buzz" Shipman, 59 of Mt. Vernon will be held at 11am on Wednesday, August, 3, 2022 at the Utica Church of Christ, 115 N. Central Ave., Utica with Pastor Doug Swan officiating. Burial will follow in South Lawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8pm on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at the Utica Church of Christ.
Buzz passed away on July 28, 2022. He was born on December 2, 1962 in Newark to the late Horace and Mary JoAnn (Ashburn) Shipman.
Buzz graduated from Utica High School in 1982. He worked for Law General Contracting/Xtreme Asphalt for 26 years. He was an avid Ohio State fan and enjoyed gardening. He loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Dona Shipman; siblings, Steven Siegfried of Wichita Falls, TX, Lawrence (Sherry) Shipman of Mt. Vernon, Paul Shipman of Utica, Royce "Tootie" Shipman of Mt. Vernon, Janet Sue (Jeff) Thompson of St. Louisville, Laurie (Douglas) Diggins, Denna (Fred) Mick all of Utica; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Floyd and Judith Smith; sisters-in-law, Jane Shipman, Connie Shipman, Darla (John) Brabson, Dawn and Dale White; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne L. Shipman, James "Jim" Shipman, David "Richard" Shipman and Jerry "James" Siegfried; and sister, Jeannie White; sister-in-law, Patsy Siegfried.
