A funeral service for Imogene E. Higgins, 101, of Moorehaven, FL, formerly of Centerburg, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Milford Church of Christ, 3648 Johnstown Rd., Centerburg with George Randolph officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Centerburg

Friends may call 2:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at the church.

Mrs. Higgins passed away March 16, 2017 at Okeechobee Health Care, Okeechobee, FL. She was born December 5, 1915, in Washington Twp, Licking Co., Ohio to the late O. Glenn and Mary (VanWey) Cooksey.

Imogene was baptized at Bell Church of Christ and was a 89 year member at Milford Church of Christ. She graduated from Utica High School in 1932. Imogene was editor at the Centerburg Gazette and wrote articles under "On the scene with Imogene".

She is survived by her son, Jack Higgins of Gambier; daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ann and George Randolph of Moorehaven, FL; eight grandchildren, Ben Randolph, Susan (Greg) Smith, Jerry Randolph, Cindy (Rodney) Harris, Wendy Smith, Jon Higgins, Tami (Keith) Ruhl, and Shamra Ann Higgins; twenty-five great-grandchildren; thirty-two great-great grandchildren..

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harley "Jake" Higgins who passed away February 4, 1982; grandsons, Jed and Ted Higgins; eight great-great grandchildren; brothers, Clyde and Kenneth Cooksey; sisters, Pauline Burch and Frances Reynolds.
