Irene A. Schlabach

Mount Vernon - A funeral service for Irene A. Schlabach, 93 of Mount Vernon, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 24, 2014 at Melita Fellowship Church, 9956 Camp Ohio Rd., Utica with pastor Alan Byler officiating. Burial will follow in Martinsburg Amish Cemetery.

Family and friends may call 1:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the church.

Irene died October 21, 2014 at her residence. She was born September 25, 1921, in Geauga Co., Ohio to the late Andrew R. and Sarah (Graber) Miller.

She was a member of Tourist Mennonite Church in Sarasota, FL. On October 31, 1946 she married Jake J. Miller. He passed away November 11, 1986. She married Norman Schlabach on September 10, 1994 and he passed away November 2, 2001.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Leroy (Shirley) Miller of Howard, Marlin (Ruth) Miller of Utica, Paul (Lucinda) Miller of Sarcoxie, MO; daughters and son-in-law, Linda Woosley of Howard, Sara (Norman) Miller of Mount Vernon; daughter-in-law, Mary Miller; 25 grandchildren;19 great-grandchildren; step-children, Dave (Clara) Schlabach, Lee (Ada) Schlabach, Allen (Marjorie) Schlabach, James Mark (Marlene) Schlabach, Steve (Ruthann) Schlabach, Freda Yoder, Ruth (Philip) Drawbond; 31 step-grandchildren, 70 step-great-grandchildren, 6 step-great-great-grandchildren; foster children, Robin Hardesty of Zanesville, Robert Nussbaum of Shreve.

She is preceded in death by her husbands; sons, Joe Allen and William Miller; son-in-law, James Woosley.
