A memorial service for Ivan C. Kent, 84 of Utica, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Utica Church of Christ, 115 N. Central Ave. with Doug Swan officiating. Burial will follow in South Lawn Cemetery.

Friends may call 6:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, February 19, 2018 at the church and one hour prior to the service Tuesday, February 20, 2018.

Ivan passed away peacefully surrounded by his family February 16, 2018 at his residence. He has completed his journey on earth and has started his new journey in his heavenly home. He was born April 28, 1933, in Licking County to the late Robert E. and Mable (Ute) Kent.

He was a member of Utica Church of Christ, a U.S. Army Veteran, formerly employed by Pittsburgh Plate Glass in Mt. Vernon and loved gardening. He was a charter member of the Utica Area Jaycees. He was fondly called "paw paw ho ho" by his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty L. (Tompkins) Kent; son, Troy Kent; daughters and son-in-law, Christine Stockdale, Tammy and Kerry Freed; seven grandchildren, Marcus (Maribeth) Stockdale, Travis Kent, Tasha (Justin) Bean, Kerry J. (Courtney) Freed, Jr., Cassandra (Nick) Kent-Byers, Angela (Rob) Kent-Watkins, Gabriela Louise Kent; twenty great-grandchildren; sister Grace Clifford of N. Dakota.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandsons, Eric Scott Broseus and Nathan Stockdale; brothers, Calvin, Clyde, Franklin, Floyd and Bill; sisters, Gertrude, Mary, Goldie, Fannie, Florence and Ruth.
