Utica - A funeral service for James David Short, 59 of Utica, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica with Alan Pratt officiating. Burial will follow in South Lawn Cemetery with military honors provided by Licking County Veterans Alliance.

Friends may call 5:00-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at the funeral home.

Dave died May 1, 2015 at his residence. He was born February 18, 1956, in Mount Vernon to Dixie L. (Hall) Short and the late James F. Short.

Dave was an Air Force Vietnam War Veteran. He was employed by North Fork School and was a member of Utica American Legion Post #92.

He is survived by his mother, Dixie L. (Hall) Short of Utica; sisters, Teri and Dan Long of Johnstown, Mary Ann (Anna) Short of Columbus; nephew, Danny (Amy) Long, Jr. of Newark.

He is preceded in death by his father, James F. Short who passed away May 30, 2014.
