Jean M. Heckler

Jean Mae Heckler, 83, of Bogue, NC, passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the home of her daughter, Linda Heald, of Utica, OH.

She was born December 19, 1934 in Washington, DC to the late Frank Wallace and Mae Emma (Davy) Rodgers.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Susan Heald (Ed) of Utica, OH, Marchel Jean Hitchcock of Butler, TN, Kathryn Anne Russell (Tony) of Bogue, NC, and Patricia Diane Sheffield (Jeff) also of Bogue, NC.

In addition to her daughters she is survived by eight grandchildren, Skye Edmister (Hannah) of Richmond, KY, Tricia Evans (Matt) of Utica, OH, Scott Heald (Amanda) of Utica, OH, Kelly Mossman (Chance) of Utica, OH, Jaime Hitchcock (Justin) of Merritt, NC, Ashley Haynes of Boone, NC, Sarah Ware (Matt) of Peletier, NC, and Cody Sheffield of Bogue, NC.; Twenty great-grandchildren; Brother, Orrin J. Rodgers of MD, and her beloved dog, Kelly (she's right here, mom, she's right here).

Jean is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Franklin George Heckler, and great-granddaughter, Charlie Evans.

The family would also like to say thank you for the love and care Jean received from her NC caregivers, Diane Simmons, Rosa Headington, Camelia Torres, and Crystal, Stephanie, KC, Melissa, Dallas and all the other wonderful staff from Kindred Healthcare of Mt. Vernon, OH.

The family will have a Celebration of Life in NC at a later date.
