Jerald E. Parrill
Utica - A funeral service for Jerald E. Parrill, 76 of Utica, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2012 at Law-Baker Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Kelley officiating. Burial will follow in South Lawn Cemetery with military honors provided by Licking County Veterans Alliance.
Jerry died March 8, 2012 at Knox Community Hospital, Mount Vernon. He was born March 23, 1935, in Newark to the late Harley and Edna (Trimble) Parrill.
After graduating from Newark High in 1952, Jerry joined the Navy. Upon returning home he went to work at Roper where he was a member of the Local AFL CIO. He was there until the doors closed in 1975. He was an avid motorcyclist where he spent his weekends racing motorcycles until he was in his fifties. He loved playing pool, basketball, golfing and going camping.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda J. (Gantt) Parrill of Utica, sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Sharon Parrill of Wilson, NC, and Matthew and Renee Parrill of Columbus; former wife, Chloe Parrill of Newark; four grandchildren Ethan and Anna Jane Parrill of North Carolina and Aileen and Emma Parrill of Columbus; brother and sister-in-law, Fred and Joyce Parrill of Newark; nieces Cyndi Kosmicki, Debbie Fisher and Chrissy Barrett and nephew Mark Parrill.
