Jerrold E. Cope

On Saturday, December 5, 2020, the Lord gently touched Jerrold E Cope and called him home.

Jerry was born November 2, 1937 in Crooksville, Ohio, and was currently a resident of Mount Vernon. He was a devoted and loving husband to Carol for 54 years

He proudly served over 5 years in the U.S. Navy, where in 1958 and again in '59 he was deployed to the Mediterranean aboard the aircraft carrier USS Essex. He was a long time member of the Church of the Nativity in Utica, where his passion for music overflowed into the music ministry.

After 35 years of service to Lucent Tech he retired in 1993 as a System Test Eng.

He is survived by his wife Carol, son Larry (Fran), sisters Barb (Greg) Pilliar and Lois ("Chip") Strickland, brother-in-law "Bud" Snyder, and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Florence Cope, brother Marlin Cope, and sister Pat Snyder.

Private services will be held at the Church of the Ascension in Johnstown on Friday, December 11, followed by burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family suggests that those who wish can contribute to the Church of the Ascension in Johnstown in his memory.
