A memorial service for Dr. Jerry L. Curtis, 79 of Utica, will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Law-Baker Funeral Home, 34 N. Main St., Utica with Pastor Daniel Fullen officiating.
Friends may call 1:00-3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the funeral home.
Dr. Curtis passed away March 6, 2017 at Selma Markowitz Center, Newark. He was born March 26, 1937, in Salt Lake City, Utah to the late Eldon W. and Emma (Peterson) Curtis.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He earned his Ph.D. in French from the University of Washington in 1971. He retired from The Ohio State University after 25 years as an Associate Professor of French.
He is survived by the love of his life of 24 years, Shirley J. Curtis; children, Larissa Madrid of Salt Lake City, UT, Clinton Rardon, Michael (Jayme) Rardon, and Michelle (Bill) Belt; eight grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son, Johnny Curtis; three brothers, Stanley, Don and Doug Curtis.
