Jerry Roberts, age 78, of Frazeysburg, OH and formerly Mt. Vernon, OH and Utica, OH, died Saturday morning, June 20, 2020 at home where he resided with his daughter and her family.

He was born on March 5, 1942 in Logan, West Virginia to the late Grover "Bob" and Georgia "Libby" (Roe) Roberts. He retired from Big Walnut Local Schools, after 25 years in the Maintenance Department where he did a lot of mowing, painting, and cleaning up messes and had some of the best guys to work with, Odis Horsley and Bob Townley.

In addition to his parents and grandparents he was preceded in death by two of his long term companions, Dianne Sheets and Mildred Yates; brother Bobby Roberts; nephews: Shawn and Chuck Carey; niece Brenda Carey, several pets, and several long-time friends; one couple in particular who meant a lot to him, John & Patty Balka.

He is survived by his daughter, Cory (Chris) Bailey; 6 grandchildren: Haley & Landyn Phipps, Camryn, Brody, Macey & Bowyn Bailey; Mildred's family; sons: Greg Erlenbach, Marc (Kris) Erlenbach, Chris Roberts, and Brian Sheets (Julie Eskins & their daughter Baylynn); his sister Dorothy "Dottie" Springs (Richard Flint) – (who was also his long-time friend); Uncle James E. "Ernie" Roe of Florida; a few ex- wives; nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews, family dog Alli, and his dog Hank.

Jerry loved the ocean (especially Florida), tchotchkes, knives, bacon cheeseburgers, pop, watching television & movies (especially westerns), playing the drums, listening to music, telling stories, and just talking in general to anyone that would listen. He always talked about wanting to learn to play the banjo and harmonica like his brother did. His bucket list included visiting Chicago, Florida again, and what was his Grandma's Farm in Chester, WV. He was a self- proclaimed cowboy, who was always talking about wanting to ride his horse off into the sunset. Godspeed Cowboy Jerry, Godspeed.
